Welcome to Smart N Save Cafe, a delightful gem tucked away at the Marine Drive Canada Line Station in Vancouver. This cafe is not just a space to grab a bite but a lovely rendezvous point for food lovers eager to indulge in authentic Hong Kong-style cuisine at wallet-friendly prices.

As you step inside, you might notice the minimalistic decor, typical of many jam-packed eateries in Hong Kong. Though the seating arrangement is rather limited—with just a standing bar ledge—this creates a lively, bustling atmosphere reminiscent of street food stalls. It’s a no-frills place where you can quickly grab a meal to relish on the go.

The menu at Smart N Save Cafe is a haven for lovers of Asian street food, boasting enticing dishes that warm the soul. The Fake Shark Fin Soup (available for just CA$4.95), a rich and flavorful treat, is perfect for those craving comfort in a bowl. It’s a delightful concoction that manages to capture the essence of traditional flavors without breaking the bank. Pair it with the Rice Roll or the juicy Chives and Pork Dumplings, both of which have garnered rave reviews for their fresh taste and satisfying textures.

Don't miss their Bubble Waffle ($3.95)—a sweet nostalgia wrapped in crispiness that will remind you of sunny days spent at bustling street corners in Hong Kong. While some have noted it’s slightly less crispy than others in town, it’s still a must-try to satiate that sweet tooth!

Drink options are equally tempting, featuring a refreshing Lemon Tea and the ever-popular Milk Tea (both CA$3.95). Whether you prefer your beverages hot or cold, they offer the perfect companion to your meal, adding a burst of flavor to your dining experience.

Customer reviews sing praises for the food's quality and the cafe's efficiency. Andrea Wong notes the "tasty and juicy" dumplings, while Paula So emphasizes the fantastic value, finding enough food for two at just CA$20. Many patrons appreciate the quick service, with most orders ready in under ten minutes, allowing you to enjoy your meal sans the lengthy waits typical of busy eateries.

While Smart N Save Cafe may be a bit tricky to spot at first, once you discover it, you’ll find a cozy spot to fuel up on delicious Hong Kong-style foods that not only taste authentic but also evoke a sense of home. The friendly staff members add to the experience, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. So, grab your friends, enjoy a quick bite standing by the bar, or take your meal to go and relish it wherever the day takes you.

In a city full of dining choices, Smart N Save Cafe stands out as a delightful retreat where affordability meets great taste—truly, a must-visit for anyone looking to explore genuine Hong Kong flavors in Vancouver!

Chives and pork dumplings were quite tasty and juicy, we enjoyed them very much. Bubble waffle has the same taste as the one from The Bubble waffle cafe, but a bit less crispy. Lemon ice tea was ok. Very convenient order system, we received our food in within 10 minutes. There are tables and chairs to accommodate couples and one big table. Ladies in the counter are very nice

Went to pick up late lunch. Got the rice roll and fake shark fin soup. Both taste great and were hot and quick. Price very reasonable, I also ordered a noodle mix as well and total was $20. Enough and filling for two people. Will be back.

A new restaurant opened where Yifang used to be. The location is definitely hard to find and easy to miss. The interior is super bare bones with just one high table, no chairs, two ordering kiosks and a pick up window. Looks like they only want you to do take out. Wait time for food is minimal, it looks like they have everything cooked already, so they just need to scoop and package. The menu is all cheap HK eats like what you will find at the Richmond night market, nothing too healthy or nutritious, but the menu is priced well. Portion size is also fair. In terms of taste, it’s exactly as you can imagine, you’re eating fish balls or indomie instant noodle. It is a very basic food operation, and they did nothing wrong at all. Let’s hope this place stays around longer than the predecessor.

The food prices are reasonable. The workers are nice and it felt like I was at home! My favourite item was the fish paste with cabbage.

Really good price and fast, hot food. Biggest knock is that there aren't enough tables/places to eat – currently just one standing bar, but with the big empty space right now, I assume they are getting some tables. That's the only reason I'm not giving a 5 yet, but once they get a better place for dine-in customers, I'm happy to come again. Bonus: right now at their sister grocery store at Lansdowne, they have a promo where if you show your receipt at that store at the café here, you'll get a free drink, bringing the value up even more.

My favorite place to grab some lunch or snacks. Very reasonable price, HongKong style milk tea was perfect, I ordered no sugar was excellent smooth. Rice rolls were exactly what I want for lunch.

A nice HK street food joint on the 2nd floor of marine gateway. They serve things like Curry fish balls, rice rolls, siu mai and other things. very affordable prices and generous portions. 9 fish balls for $4, i will be back often. It even tastes more like the HK versions than some other places in town. Warning that there is no seating and only a table to stand next to much like a HK food stall. There is plenty of seating outside of A&W that is rarely used

Holy cow! Thank you Smart N Save Cafe for opening up a snack shop that is not only super affordable but the food is actually very delicious! We heard about this eatery on social media recently and coincidentally passing by the area. The restaurant/cafe is a self serve kiosk model with no seating just a bar ledge near the front doors. The menu was easy to navigate and ordering from the kiosk was surprisingly easy. We ordered the rice rolls with curry balls and siu mai, imitation shark fin soup with fish paste and a hot Hong Kong style milk tea. 3 items total under $17 dollars what a bargain! The food was fresh and tasty. Soup was piping hot and the rest delicious! Would return daily if I could lol
